  • 2618 material for high-power, nitrous, boost, or NA applications
  • Cylinder 8 piston is pre-clearanced to clear the crankshaft reluctor wheel
All third-gen Hemi pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum and feature premium Total Seal piston rings and Trend Performance wrist pins.

All Gen 3 Hemi pistons are made from premium 2618 alloy forgings with inboard pin bosses and offset pins for quiet operation. They incorporate 3D milling on the piston crowns to match the specific combustion chambers of each engine in the Hemi series and the valve pockets are also engine specific. The top ring down dimension of .260-inch is increased to .285-inch for the supercharged Hellcat and the Apache versions to keep the ring farther away from combustion heat for increased durability. Ring packs include a 1.5mm top ring, 1.5mm second ring and a 3mm oil ring across the board. The standard .155W piston pin for the 5.7L and 6.1L engine is increased to .185W for the Hellcat and the Apache engines. Options for supercharged or high rpm applications include higher grade wrist pins from H13 tool steel, MP2 or TP-1 material for the highest strength possible.

Modern, strutted forgings and exceptional machining quality promote lightweight and outstanding strength.

H13 is considered the best all-round alloy for most racing applications, especially in power-adder engines. H13 pins have a Rockwell hardness value around Rc54 and easily accept a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. These pins are available for all Hemi applications and they are ID honed for stress relieving and feature hard-turned ends and chamfers if requested. A newer pin alloy from Trend Performance, TP1, is exceptionally hard and very tough and is very popular in for its ability stay round under extreme abuse.

Inboard pin bosses provide a stronger, more stable piston with reduced weight and shorter wrist pins. Any of the Gen 3 Hemi pistons can be further upgraded with custom under crown milling to reduce weight and provide a stress free under crown surface that mirrors the piston crown.

Third-gen Hemi pistons feature CNC'd clearance notches for reluctor wheels where required.

If you race a Gen 3 Hemi or you plan to make serious upgrades to your street car, Diamond pistons are the best insurance policy, you can get to withstand the severe duty that comes with big power. With proper clearances and set up, they will endure massive abuse and still deliver the performance desired.
